Any students who are not yet finished their Warm and Cool Hearts will do so by coloring in the hearts with warm colors and painting the background using watercolors and cool colors only.
The class will then be introduced to the colors of the rainbow and the acronym Roy G. Biv as a way to easily remember their order. The class will be read a book about what it takes to make a rainbow and then complete a packet in which they color in a rainbow using Roy G. Biv colors.

The students will review the Warm and Cool colors. They will learn about the artist Friedrich Hundertwasser. They will draw a series of lines for their background and then color in with cool colors. They will then draw a variety of shapes and color with warm colors. If they have time they will cut out and glue down their shapes onto their background.

Monochromatic Painting:

The students will be introduced to painting techniques. They will practice painting inside the lines using both round and flat brushes. They will then learn about tints and shades and how to mix them. They will complete worksheets by mixing value scales made up of tints and shades.
