Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. Tuesday- Introduce Wycinanki, Polish paper-cutting technique.
Wednesday- Introduce project requirements. Begin sketching ideas.
Thursday- Continue sketching ideas.
Friday- Begin cutting paper.

Advanced Drawing (3rd Period)
Monday- continue sketching still life.
Tuesday- Presentation by Antonelli Art Institute guest speaker.
Wednesday-Transfer sketch to 18 x 24 paper.
Thursday-Review oil pastel techniques, begin adding oil pastels to drawing.
Friday- Continue adding oil pastels.

Graphics (4th Period)

Wednesday- Last Day of Marking Period: Finish Symbol Poster and complete guessing activity.
Thursday- First Day of 3rd Marking Period: Introduce new students to the art room and review the course syllabus.
Friday- The students are introduced to the first unit of study, Artists as Storytellers, and begin sketchbook assignment.


Beginning Drawing (3rd, 4th, and 5th, Periods)
Monday- No School
Tuesday- Snow Day
Wednesday-Last Day of Marking Period: All projects not handed in already are due. Three figure drawings are due. 5x5 due on my wiki.
Thursday-No class
Friday- No class

Advanced Drawing (3rd Period)
Monday- No School
Tuesday- Snow Day
Wednesday-No class
Thursday-First Day of the 3rd Marking Period: Students are introduced to the art room and review the syllabus. The students will complete preliminary drawings.
Friday- The students will review key drawing terms and concepts from Beginning Drawing course. The students will complete drawing exercises.

Graphics (4th Period)
Monday- No School

Tuesday- Snow Day
Wednesday-No Class 
Thursday-First Day of 3rd Marking Period: The students will be introduced to the art room and review the syllabus. The students will be introduced to the Graphic Arts and view examples.
Friday- The students will begin learning design principles and view examples of how to achieve proximity.

Sculpture (5th Period)

Thursday-First Day of 3rd Marking Period: The students will be introduced to the art roomw and review the course syllabus.The students will view examples of various types of sculpture
Friday- The students will be introduced to the types of relief sculpture. They will be given first assignment and begin sketching ideas.

January 3rd-January 7th, 2011 

7th Grade Art (1st and 7th Periods)
Monday-The students will continue on Fantasy Cities. Due tomorrow.
Tuesday- Fantasy Cities Due. Introduction of new unit. Begin sketchbook assignment.
Wednesday- Review key terms and finish sketchbook assignment.
Thursday- Students will be introduced to the artwork of Keith Haring. The students will read article and begin on 5 x 5 writing assignment.
Friday- The students will follow along with instructor to create a self-portrait.



Beginning Drawing (3rd, 4th, and 5th, Periods)
Monday- Pastel Landscapes
Tuesday- Pastel Landscapes. Due tomorrow.  
Wednesday-Pastel Landscapes Due. Students will read article and begin on
5 x 5 writing assignment after project is handed in. 
Thursday-Students will be given requirements for final project grade of the semester.
Friday- Students will begin working on a series of drawings for final project grade.



Intro to Art (6th Period)
Monday- Fantasy Hand-scapes. Due tomorrow.
Tuesday- Fantasy Hand-Scapes due. Students will read article and begin on 5 x 5 writing assignment.
Wednesday-Students will take notes and follow along with teacher demonstrations of perspective.
Thursday- Students will continue with perspective drawings and notes. Students will be given project requirements and begin sketching ideas for One-point perspective room.
Friday- Students will continue sketching ideas for one-point perspective room.
