Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Rotation Days 1-5
September 28th-October 4th


Kindergarten
Primary Colors:
The Kindergarten classes will be introduced to the primary colors. They will learn what the colors are and why they are special. The students will complete primary colors packet.



1st Grade
Abstract Watercolor Painting:
The first grade classes will review information on Realistic and Abstract Artwork. They will learn how to use the wet-on-wet watercolor painting technique. They will create an abstract watercolor painting.

2nd Grade
Cave Art:
The students will finish coloring and then paint their background using watercolor paint.  




3rd Grade
Texture Foil Print:
The students will be given demonstration on how to paint and print their texture design. They will choose two colors, then paint and print their design. They will also print a ghost print.


4th Grade
Realistic Landscape:
The students will review the project requirements. The students will finish outlining and coloring their landscape.  


5th Grade
Still Life:
The students will review all information on Value and Still Life drawing. The students will practice various arrangements of objects. The students will begin final copy of Still Life project.  





6th Grade
Zentangles:
The students will review the project requirements and then continue working on their Zentangle Designs.

Rotation Days 6-10
September 21st-September 27th


Kindergarten
The Kindergarten classes will review basic line, shape, and color information. Any classes that did not finish the worksheet will do so. Then they will complete project utilizing lines, shapes, and colors.


1st Grade
The first grade classes will use markers to complete line landscape from last week. The students will then learn about realistic and abstract artwork. The students will practice drawing examples of both.

2nd Grade
The students will review information on Cave Art and specifically the Caves at Lascaux. The students will finish drawing their final copy and color and outline their projects. If they have time they will use watercolors to paint the background.


3rd Grade
The students will review information on texture. The students will be given demonstration and project requirements. The students will create their design and then trace and transfer their design to foil.


4th Grade
The students will review the project requirements. They will be given coloring and shading demonstration. The students will finish sketching their landscape and then add color.  


5th Grade
The students will review all information on Value and Still Life drawing. The students will practice various arrangements of objects. The students will begin final copy of Still Life project.




6th Grade
The students will be introduced to Zentangles and view various examples. They will be given the project requirements and then begin their own Zentangle Designs.

Kindergarten
The Kindergarten classes will begin their first lesson with reviewing basic line, shape, and color information. They will practice a variety of lines and shapes on the whiteboards. The students will also review and practice location and direction words (above, below, inside, Etc.) They will complete review worksheet.


1st Grade
The first grade classes will review information from last week on lines, shapes, and colors. The students will follow along to practice a line landscape. They will then use markers to complete final copy.

2nd Grade
The students will review information on Cave Art and specifically the Caves at Lascaux. They will finish the worksheet that was started last week and then continue practicing subjects that were drawn in the caves. The class will be given the project requirements and begin final copy.


3rd Grade
The students will review information on texture. They will use their texture rubbings from last week to create a texture compilation by cutting and gluing down textures. They will then be given the requirements for the next project.


4th Grade
The students will review information on landscapes. They will follow along to create a realistic landscape. They will then begin final copy.



5th GradeThe students will review information on Value. The students will finish their value scale worksheet. They will learn about shading objects of various shapes and how to make a successful still life. 





6th Grade
The students will review information on lines and patterns. They will finish worksheet. The students will be introduced to Zentangles. They will begin their Zentangle Designs.

Kindergarten Art
The Kindergarten classes will be completing a Student Learning Objectives Art Skills and Knowledge Pre-test. This will assess their current ability levels in art such as: knowledge of lines, shapes, colors, space, and proportion, along with the skills of drawing, coloring, cutting, and gluing. They will be given the same test at the end of the school year and it will be used to measure their growth.

Any student who did not finish their Dot project from last week will do so.


1st Grade Art
The first grade classes will begin with a review of basic lines, shapes, and colors. The students will view various examples of lines, shapes, and colors being used to make artwork. They will practice and then complete a worksheet using lines, shapes, and colors.
Any student who did not finish their Dot project from last week will do so.

2nd Grade Art
The students will be introduced to Art History. The students will begin by discussing art that was made in the past and what tools were used to make art. The students will learn about Cave Art and specifically the Caves at Lascaux.
Any student who did not finish their Dot project from last week will do so.

The students will be introduced to texture. They will view various types of textures, from inside the classroom to texture used in art. The students will find a variety of textures and create texture rubbings.

4th Grade Art
The students will be introduced to landscapes. They will learn about the foreground, middleground, and background. They will learn about size and space relationships. They will complete worksheet.
Any student who did not finish their Dot project from last week will do so.

The students will be introduced to Value. The students will learn how to make a value scale and use value to make objects appear realistic. The students will begin a value scale.

The students will be introduced to different types of lines. They will discuss how different lines can portray different emotions. They will view various pieces of art that show emotion through line. The students will begin line worksheet.
