First Week of School!
Welcome Back!

Below is a summary of what each class will be doing the first week of school. Check back each week for updates, images, and websites that coincide with what each class is learning about!

Rotation Days 1-6
August 29th-September 2nd

All Classes:
For the first art class of the year we will spend the beginning of class going over the basic room procedures, the classroom rules (which includes the use of art materials), and the location of supplies. I will also briefly cover grading and my expectations from the students in their behavior and their artwork.

For the second part of class we will read the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. We will discuss the book and it's message. The students will be given a piece of paper and limited to only one monochromatic color scheme. They will use inspiration from the book to create a "dot" of their own. All NSE students will be completing this assignment and the "dots" will be hung together as part of a collaborative project. The students will be graded on their use of a monochromatic color scheme, their creativity, and their use of materials.

I will also include resources for each lesson, such as: important images, vocabulary, and art websites that you can visit with your child. Please see my schedule below to see what days your child will have art.
