Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Rotation Days 1-5
 Fri. October 28th-Thurs. November 3rd



Kindergarten
Mondrian Primary Colors:
The Kindergarten classes will review information on the artist Piet Mondrian. The students will begin project in the style of Mondrian by tracing squares and rectangles and then painting them in using the primary colors.  




1st Grade
Klimt Patterns:
The students will review information on patterns. The students will learn about the artist Gustav Klimt. The students will practice making patterns and an abstract tree in the style of Klimt.  



2nd Grade
Egyptian Art:
The students will review information on Egyptian Art. They will decorate and paint their Egyptian Collars and then they will finish their Egyptian worksheet.




3rd Grade
Value/Shaded Objects:
The students will review information on Value. The students will finish Shape to Form worksheet. They will practice ideas for the project, then redraw their idea on the final paper, then shade in.




4th Grade
Low-Relief Abstract Design:
The students will paint their designs, adding multiple coats of paint if necessary. If there is still time they will begin discussing the Elements of Art.

5th Grade
Shaded Rope/Ribbon:
The students will review videos and continue practicing on white boards. When their drawings are approved they will re-draw rope and ribbon onto paper and begin shading in. Once both drawings are complete they will brainstorm ideas for the project and begin sketching. 





6th Grade
Illuminated Letters:
The students will review different kinds of lettering, including Illuminated Letters, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco styles. They will complete worksheet by drawing the different types of letters. The students will brainstorm and sketch ideas for the project then transfer idea to final paper. They will outline and color in.

October 21st-October 27th



Kindergarten
Primary Colors:
The Kindergarten classes will review the primary colors. They will learn about the artist Piet Mondrian. They will complete worksheet using the primary colors.


1st Grade
Abstract Art in the Style of Miro:
The first grade classes will learn about patterns. They will recognize patterns in the world around them and also in artwork. They will practice drawing patterns and then complete worksheet.

2nd Grade
Egyptian Art:
The students will review information on Egyptian Art. They will paint their Egyptian Collars and then they will finish their Egyptian worksheet.

3rd Grade
Value/Shaded Objects:
The students will review information on Value. The students will finish Value Scale worksheet. They will then learn how to draw 3-D Forms, such as cylinders, cubes, etc. They will complete worksheet.


4th Grade
Low-Relief Abstract Design:
The students will review the differences between 2D and 3D artwork. They will continue working on their abstract Low-Relief sculpture by adding wood pieces and model magic. If their finish their designs, they will paint them.

5th Grade

October 14th-October 20th



Kindergarten
Primary Colors:
The Kindergarten classes will review the primary colors. They will learn about the artist Piet Mondrian. They will complete worksheet using the primary colors.


1st Grade
Abstract Art in the Style of Miro:
The first grade classes will review information on the Abstract Artist Joan Miro. They will outline their projects with Sharpie and then color in using crayons. They will color in using abstract colors.   


2nd Grade
Egyptian Art:
The students will review information on Egyptian Art. They will paint their Egyptian Collars and then they will finish their Egyptian worksheet. If their collars dry, they will begin decorating them.  


3rd Grade
Value/Shaded Objects:
The students will be introduced to Value and learn how to add value to make objects appear more realistic. The students will learn how to shade in a value scale and complete worksheet.



4th Grade
Low-Relief Abstract Design:
The students will review the differences between 2D and 3D artwork. They will continue working on their abstract Low-Relief sculpture by adding wood pieces and model magic. If their finish their designs, they will paint them.



5th Grade
Shaded Still Life:
The students will finish adding value and completely shading in their still life projects. They will be introduced to the next lesson and begin practicing drawing ropes and ribbons by following along with demonstration videos.


6th Grade
Illuminated Letters:
The students will be introduced to different kinds of lettering, including Illuminated Letters, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco styles. They will complete worksheet by drawing the different types of letters.

Kindergarten
Primary Colors:
The Kindergarten classes will review the primary colors. They will finish Primary Colors Packet. The students will use only the Primary Colors to complete their project.




1st Grade
Abstract Art in the Style of Miro:
The first grade classes will review information on Realistic and Abstract Artwork. They will learn about the Abstract Artist Joan Miro. They will use various colors to find shapes within his abstract artwork.  



2nd Grade
Egyptian Art:
The students will be introduced to Egyptian Art. They will view examples of their artwork and learn about their life and culture. They will compare their art to the art of the Cave people. They will begin worksheet.   



3rd Grade
Texture Foil Print:
The students will review how to create print and then make a print and ghost print.



4th Grade
Realistic Landscape:
The students will finish outlining and coloring their landscape. The students will discuss 2D and 3D artwork. They will begin sketching ideas for project.



5th Grade
Shaded Still Life:
The students will review all information on Value and Still Life drawing. The students will add value to drawn objects.




6th Grade
Zentangles:
The students will finish and mount their Zentangle designs. They will begin working on Visual Symbol Worksheet.
