Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

 

 

 

Kindergarten
(Bernosky-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Potts-Day 4,
Frushon-Day 5)

 

 

Bernosky and Kaminsky: The students will review portraits and how to draw the parts of a face. The students will practice drawing a self-portrait.

Potts:
The students will discuss portraits, self-portraits, and the parts of the face. The students will practice drawing eyes, noses, and mouths.

 

 

Frushon: The students will draw, cut out, and glue down their evergreen tree.

 

 

 

1st Grade
(Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)

The students will review geometric and organic shapes.

The students will review the life and artwork of Henri Matisse and his use of collage. The students will finish collage by drawing, cutting out, and gluing organic shapes.

 


 

 

 

2nd Grade
(Corinchock-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, McCabe-Day 3, and
Bell-Day 5)



The students will be given demonstration of how to use paint and paintbrushes. The students will paint their coil pots with unique designs and colors

The students will be introduced to Radial Balance and Mandalas. The students will complete packet using knowledge of Radial Balance.

The students will review the Elements of Art. They will complete the Elements of Art worksheet.The students will begin project.

The students will continue making paper beads. If students make enough beads, they will begin brainstorming ideas for jewelry and begin making pieces.

The students will review Asymmetry and Asymmetrical Balance and view various examples. The students will complete Asymmetry packet. The students will follow along to create Asymmetrical Landscape using chalk.

Bernosky and Kaminsky: The students will use white paint to paint the snow on their Evergreen Trees.

Potts:
The students will review how to draw an evergreen tree. The students will draw, cut out, and glue down their tree.

 

Frushon: The students will review the primary colors that are mixed together to make Green. The students will paint their entire paper Green.

The students will review the project requirements and the procedures for drawing and cutting symmetrical vase shapes. The students will decorate with unique patterns and then glue down. If all students finish project, they will be given demonstration of how to create coil pot using Model Magic Clay.
