Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. Advanced Drawing Sketchbook Assignment due Friday 4/13 (After Easter Break)
Distortion: Create a Self-Portrait, using your reflection in a unusual surface, something other than a normal mirror. This could be a metal appliance (Spoon, toaster, blender) or anything else reflective (an ornament, a broken or warped mirror, a computer screen, a rear-view mirror, etc. )

Monday- Continue developing ideas for the PP&L Energy Poster Contest.
Tuesday- Finish rough draft of poster and transfer to final paper.
Wednesday- Begin coloring poster.
Thursday- Finish coloring poster and hand in.
Friday- Narrative Art Introduction-examine and discuss various artworks.

Advanced Drawing Sketchbook Assignment due Friday 3/23:
Morphing: Show the gradual transformation of one object into another object. Example: a pair of scissors into a shark. The objects should not have any relation to one another.

Observational Drawing: Go to a place where you can sit for a long period of time. Capture the essence of the place by sketching the people and places you see. (restaurant, library, bookstore, mall, etc.)

Advanced Drawing Sketchbook Assignment due Friday 3/16:
Figure Study Part II. Find a person who will sit as your model. This portrait sketch should be of the model’s face straight on. Spend time to follow proportion rules and measuring. This sketch should take at least 30 minutes.
