Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Monday 1/28 (Day 1)-Friday 2/1 (Day 5)


Kindergarten
 Mixing Green-Evergreen Tree

 The students will review mixing primary colors and then mix and paint their entire paper green. In the following class they will learn how to draw the basic shape of an evergreen tree and then draw and cut out that shape from their green paper. They will use white paint to add snow. 





1st Grade

Patterns in the style of Klimt

The students will be introduced to patterns and how to create unique patterns using a variety of lines, shapes, and colors. They will complete worksheet. The following class the students will learn about the artist Gustav Klimt and recognize his use of pattern in his artwork. 









2nd Grade
Mosaic/Pointillism
The students will be introduced to the Ancient Roman people and culture. They will learn about the techniques they used to create artwork, including mosaic. The students will complete color by number. In the following class the students will learn about the artistic technique of pointillism. The students will compare pointillism and mosaic artwork. The students will complete pointillism worksheet.

3rd Grade
Symmetrical Reflection Landscape 

The students will review symmetry. The students will fold and sketch a basic landscape on the top of their paper. They will then follow along with demonstration to apply paint on the bottom half of their paper to paint water.  The students will then begin painting the trees and mountains of their projects, folding their paper and transferring the paint for each land form. 



4th Grade
The Elements of Art
The students will learn about each element of art and then complete the corresponding page within the packet. The students will learn how to incorporate all 7 elements of art into one piece of artwork. 







5th Grade
Op Art


The students will review Op Art and complete worksheet. They will then brainstorm and sketch ideas for the project and then begin final copy. It will then get sharpied and colored in.
Fey's Class-They have completed the Op Art project and will be given information and demonstration of basic weaving techniques. They will complete weaving practice using strips of paper and then begin the yarn weaving project. 





6th Grade
Monochromatic Painting

When the Lettering project is complete the students will be given demonstration of techniques and best practices when using different types of brushes and when applying paint. They will begin with practicing brush control and even application, then move onto mixing and painting with tints and shades of a colors.  The students will sketch and brainstorm ideas for the project and then begin painting a variety of tints and shades on their monochromatic painting.

The students will review realistic and abstract artwork. 
  The students will practice following the techniques to create a realistic dessert. When they have achieved a successful drawing on the whiteboard they will trace onto the final paper. They will sharpie and color in realistically.  






2nd Grade

Mixing Purple-Silly Monster/ Mixing Green-Evergreen Tree

The students will follow detailed instructions to draw, cut, and glue the parts of the face for their silly monster. They will use markers to add details. 
Once their monsters are complete, the students will review mixing primary colors and then mix and paint their entire paper green. In the following class they will learn how to draw the basic shape of an evergreen tree and then draw and cut out that shape from their green paper. They will use white paint to add snow. 





1st Grade

The students will learn how to make their own scratch art by using oil pastels and painting over it with black. They will trace large vase shape and then scratch detailed patterns in the style of Greek art.
