Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

11/30/12 (Day 1) through 12/6/12 (Day 5)
 

Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)

Potts:
Dress for Mess!!! The students will be painting this week!!!  You can send them with an old t-shirt to use as a smock or simply just don’t send them in their nicest newest clothes! Thanks!!
The students will discuss what two primary colors make the secondary color of PURPLE. The students will use those two colors to mix and paint their paper an even purple color.  

Kaminsky:
The students will follow along to create eyes and other details for their silly monster. The students will cut and glue down features and then use markers to add any other details to their monsters.

Bernosky:
 The students will review the parts of a face and how to make a funny face. The students will follow along to draw, cut, and glue a monster head, ears, and nose out of their previously painted purple paper.

Frushon:
The students will discuss the parts of a face. The students will discuss how to make a silly face. The students will practice drawing silly faces by following along to draw various faces.

1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)


The students will review the artwork of Paul Klee. The students will follow along to begin an underwater scene. The students will then add in their own creatures and plants.

The students will outline with Sharpie and then color in with crayons.



2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)


Corinchock:
The students will be introduced to Mosaic artwork and complete Mosaic coloring worksheet.

Bell, Schalles, and Ressler:.
The students will review mosaic artwork and continue sketching their project ideas. The students will review the process of making a mosaic and begin cutting and gluing.

3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and Selgrade-Day 5)


The students will review the process of making a mosaic. The students will continue cutting and gluing pieces onto their Mosaic Leaf  project.




 

 

4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Burda-Day 3)

The students will review the artwork of Henri Rousseau.
The students will review animals and plants found in the jungle.
The students will add in animals and plants to their jungle landscape and begin outlining with Sharpie.

The students will review the project requirements and continue sketching, outlining, and shading their ribbon drawings.  

 

 



6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)



The students will finish Word Art worksheet.

The students will recognize the project requirements and begin developing four ideas.

The students will choose best idea and sketch onto final paper.

The students will outline with Sharpie and then begin coloring with colored pencils.

The students will review color mixing and then mix red and blue paint to make purple.

Bernosky:
The students will recognize and name the parts of  a face. The students will practice drawing silly faces and facial features.

The students will color in the sky of their Fall Tree and review mixing with the primary colors.
