(Day 1) through 3/4/13 (Day 5)
Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level
will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary
and/or artists.

Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)
**Dress for Mess!!!!! (Frushon and Kaminsky)
The students will review warm and cool colors. The students will finish coloring in their hearts using warm colors only. The students will then use watercolors to paint the background using cool colors only.
The rest of the Kindergarten classes will review their colors and learn about Roy G. Biv and the order of the rainbow.

1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and
Cooper-Day 4)
The students will review Patterns and the artist Gustav Klimt. The
students will recognize the patterns he used in his artwork. The students will finish
their stylized tree and add patterns to it. The students will outline and color
in their trees.

2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)
The students will review symmetry and asymmetry. The students will review Ancient Greek artwork, including pottery. The students will recognize the patterns used by the Greek artists. The students will draw and cut out symmetrical vase shapes and decorate with unique patterns.
3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and
Selgrade-Day 5)
The students will review the process of shading to achieve more
three-dimensional looking objects. The students will review the project
requirements and then continue drawing and shading. Any students who finish
will begin 3D pipe worksheet.
4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and
Burda-Day 3)
The students will review color mixing and blending and proper pastel
techniques. The students will review the parts of a landscape. The students
will be given project requirements and begin developing ideas and sketches.
**The next few weeks we will be working with pastels, which can get
messy. Please consider not sending your child to school with their newest or
whitest clothing on their Art day. Thanks!!
5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)
The students will review Op Art. The students will finish working on
their Op Art worksheet. The students will be given the project requirements and
begin developing ideas and sketches. The students will begin final copy when
they have finished sketches.
**The students can begin conducting research at home. Search for images of Op Art.

6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)
The students will finish and hand in Perspective projects.
The students will be introduced to Hand Sewing. The students will learn three basic stitches. The students will read handout and answer questions.
