*Art at NSE with Mrs. Zink*

Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

4/26/13 (Day 1) through 5/2/13 (Day 5)


Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)


The students will be introduced to texture. The students will view examples from around the classroom and within artwork. The students will be able to use adjectives to describe various textures. The students will find unique textures around the classroom and create texture rubbings of what they find.


1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)

The students will be introduced to various drawing techniques in order to achieve a more realistic drawing. The students will follow along to create a detailed flower drawing.


2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)

The students will review the primary, secondary, and intermediate colors. The students will review analogous colors and complete analogous drawing. The students will discuss warm and cool colors and create warm and cool drawing.

3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and Selgrade-Day 5)



The students will review analogous colors and complete analogous drawing. The students will review how to use a ruler and divide their paper into 4 equal rectangles.


4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Burda-Day 3)


The students will review Pop Art and various Pop Art Artists. The students will discuss “popular culture” and be able to apply to drawing. The students will review how to use a ruler and use ruler to divide paper into 4 equal rectangles. The students will be given project requirements and begin sketching ideas.


5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)

 

The students will finish their facial feature drawings. The students will then review the project requirements and then begin drawing their self-portrait from their photograph.

 
 

6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)

 

The students will finish and hand in sewing projects.


The students who have finished the project will begin sketching facial features and complete a series of eye, nose, and mouth drawings.
