Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

November 14^th-November 18^th, 2011

7th Grade Art (1st and 7th Periods)
Monday- Finish Writing Prompt rough draft and write final copy. Begin corresponding illustration.

Tuesday- Finish illustration.
Wednesday- Finish illustration and share prompts and drawings with the class.
Thursday-Introduce Carmen Lomas Garza. Discuss family traditions and complete tradition drawing.
Friday-Introduce Kara Walker and key vocabulary. Vocabulary Review exercise.

Intro to Art (2nd and 6th Periods)
Monday- Grid Drawing Due. Finish Math Worksheet. Print and grid chosen image.

Tuesday- Create Grid on 18 x 24 paper.
Wednesday- Begin drawing image on 18 x 24 paper using grid.
Thursday Continue drawing image on 18 x 24 paper
Friday- Continue drawing image on 18 x 24 paper

Sculpture (3rd Period)
Monday- Finish Functional/Nonfunctional Clay sculptures then Paint high relief sculpture
Tuesday- Paint high relief sculptures
Wednesday- Elements of Art PowerPoint. Complete Review Worksheet
Thursday- Complete Review Worksheet. Begin developing sketches.
Friday- Continue developing sketches and experiment with materials.

Advanced Sculpture (3rd Period)
Monday- Continue construction of sculpture base and armatures.
Tuesday Continue construction of sculpture base and armatures.
Wednesday- Begin applying Paper Mache to base
Thursday- Continue applying Paper Mache to base
Friday- Continue applying Paper Mache to base

Beginning Drawing (5th Period)
Monday- Sketchbook Assignment due today
Finish Dramatic Spotlighting/Cast Shadow/Contrast drawing

Tuesday—Introduce Ora Lerman. Review Project Requirements
Wednesday-Compositional sketches of meaningful objects.
Thursday-Compositional sketches of meaningful objects.

Friday- Compositional sketches of meaningful sketches. Class Critique of sketches.
