*Art at NSE with Mrs. Zink*

Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

11/1/13 (Day 1) through 11/7/13 (Day 5)

 


Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

 

Kindergarten
(Bernosky-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Potts-Day 4, and
Frushon-Day 5)


The students will be mixing red and yellow to create orange! They will then paint the leaves on their Fall Tree!! Dress for Mess!

 

Frushon: The students will be following along to draw and color a fall tree without leaves.

1st Grade
(Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)



The students will review information about the artist Paul Klee. The students will review how to draw realistic ocean plants and animals. The students will begin project by following along to draw a variety of ocean plants and animals.  

 

2nd Grade
(Corinchock-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, McCabe-Day 3, and
Bell-Day 5)



The students review the project requirements and then continue their Egyptian project by drawing their name in Hieroglyphics and then choosing an Egyptian Image to include.

3rd Grade
(Lynch-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 4, and Selgrade-Day 5)

 


The students will review value and shading. The students will finish their project by shading in their forms. The students will then hand in their projects and begin working on 3-D Pipes worksheet.

4th Grade
(Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Moyer-Day 3)

 
The students will review information on the artist Henri Rousseau and animals and plants found in the jungle. The students will then follow along to draw a jungle scene in the style of Henri Rousseau and add in various jungle plants and animals.

5th Grade

The students will review the process of drawing and shading ribbons. The students will be review  project requirements and draw and shade twisted ribbons.
 
****Reminder!! Any 5th grade who brings in a shaded ribbon drawing to me will receive extra credit!!!

The students will review the project requirements, complete their thumbnail sketches and then begin final project.
