Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level
will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary
and/or artists.
Kindergarten
(Bernosky-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Potts-Day 4, and

The students will
review the primary colors and how they can be mixed together to create the
secondary colors. The students will learn how to draw a tree.
Frushon: The students will be shown the correct way to use scissors and glue sticks. The students will then cut and glue squares and rectangles onto their Mondrian painting.
1st Grade
(Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)
The students will review abstract and realistic artwork. The students will review the artist Joan Miro. The students will finish coloring in their Miro projects.

The students will review Ancient Egyptian culture and artwork. The students will be given the project requirements and then begin their Egyptian project.

The students will review value and value scales. The students will
finish value scale worksheet. The students will learn how to change shapes into
forms and then complete worksheet.

The students will review
information on the artist Henri Rousseau and animals and plants found in the
jungle. The students will complete jungle worksheet by drawing various plants
and animals.

The students will learn how to draw different types of ribbons and make
them look three-dimensional. They will work on drawing shaded ribbons.

The students will review Illuminated Letters, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco. The students will complete worksheet. If time allows, the students will be given project requirements and begin brainstorming and drawing thumbnails sketches.
