Below is my weekly schedule so you can see
which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview
of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also
include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please
do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Kindergarten
The students will be introduced to the artist
Piet Mondrian. They will recognize his use of lines, shapes, and the Primary
colors. The students will complete worksheet.
1st Grade
The students will review Abstract and
Realistic Art. The students will learn about artists who create realistic art.
They will follow along with demonstration to draw realistic food.
2nd Grade
The students will review information on Egyptian
Art. The students will draw their name in Hieroglyphics on gold paper and then
color in and glue down on construction paper. They will begin preparing their
paper plate to make an Egyptian collar by cutting and painting it gold.
3rd Grade
The students will be introduced to value and
how to shade in a value scale and 3-D forms. They will complete worksheet.
4th Grade
They will review the project requirements and
then assemble their sculptures. Once assembled, they can paint their sculptures
using one color.
5th Grade
The students will learn more about printmaking and develop and sketch ideas for their reduction printmaking project.
6th Grade
The students will review types of lettering,
including Art Nouveau and Art Deco. They will finish worksheets. They will then
begin brainstorming and sketching idea for the Illuminated Letter project. Once
they have developed their ideas they can begin on the final copy.
