Below is my weekly schedule so you can see
which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview
of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also
include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please
do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Kindergarten
The students will review the Primary Colors.
They will follow along to finish worksheet. The students will be given the
project requirements and then follow along to trace shapes and outline with
Sharpie. They will then use crayons to color in using the primary colors. Where
the shapes overlap they will mix the colors to make the secondary colors.
1st Grade
The students will then begin discussion on
Abstract and Realistic Art. They will view examples and be able to determine if
an artwork is realistic or abstract. The students will complete realistic and
abstract drawing.
2nd Grade
The students will be given introduction to
Egyptian Art and view examples. The students will discuss similarities and
differences between the two cultures learned about so far. The students will complete
Egyptian Art Worksheet.
3rd Grade
The students will review information on
artist and illustrator Eric Carle. The students will sketch animals and trace
their best onto paper. They will then determine the types of textures they will
need for their chosen animal. They will use paint and a variety of tools to
create textures.
4th Grade
The students will review the project
requirements. They will review colored pencil techniques and finish coloring in
their landscapes. If the whole class finishes, the students will be introduced
to relief sculpture and view various examples.
5th Grade
The students will review information on value, shading forms, composition, and space in a still life. The students will practice compositions on their white boards and then trace onto paper their most successful one and begin shading.
6th Grade
They will finish, mount, and sign their Zentangle
project. Any students who finish will work on Adjective worksheet.
