Below is my weekly schedule so you can see
which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview
of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also
include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please
do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Kindergarten
The students will be introduced to the artist
Piet Mondrian. They will recognize his use of lines, shapes, and the Primary
colors. The students will complete worksheet.
1st Grade
The students will review Abstract and
Realistic Art. The students will be given demonstration and then properly use
analogous colors to make an abstract watercolor painting.
2nd Grade
The students will review information on Egyptian
Art. The students will complete Egyptian Art Worksheet. The students will be given demonstration on
how to create project and begin drawing their name in Hieroglyphics.
3rd Grade
The students will outline their texture
animals with Sharpie, then cut out and glue down. They will then come up with a
title as if their animal were the subject of a book in the style of Eric Carle.
4th Grade
The students will finish coloring in their
landscapes. The students will then be introduced to relief sculpture, view
various examples, and brainstorm ideas. They will begin assembling their
sculptures.
5th Grade
The students will finish shading their still life projects. They will then be introduced to the next lesson on printmaking. They will learn what a monotype print is and then create their own using markers.
6th Grade
The students will review types of lettering,
including Art Nouveau and Art Deco. They will finish worksheets. They will then
begin brainstorming and sketching idea for the Illuminated Letter project.
