Below is my weekly schedule so you can see
which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview
of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also
include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please

Kindergarten
In the Style of Mondrian
In the Style of Mondrian
The students will review art created by Piet
Mondrian. They will recognize his use of lines, shapes, and the Primary colors.
The students will trace a variety of squares and rectangles onto their paper.
The class will then go over painting rules and procedures. They will paint
their shapes the primary colors of Red, Yellow, and Blue.
1st Grade
In the
Style of Miro
The students will review Abstract and
Realistic Art. The students will learn about the artist Joan Miro. They will
view pieces of his artwork and complete worksheet.
2nd Grade
Egyptian
Collar (Symmetry)
The students will view examples of Egyptian
Collars. They will cut out and paint their collars gold, then decorate them
with a variety of materials. They will discuss symmetry and how they can apply
it to their projects.
3rd Grade
Shaded Forms
The students will review value and how to
shade. They will learn how to apply value to forms. They will complete
worksheet and then practice drawing a variety of forms.
4th Grade
Assemblage Sculpture in the Style of Louise Nevelson
The students will review painting procedures
and then paint their sculptures using only one color.
5th Grade
Reduction Printmaking
The students will learn more about printmaking and develop and sketch ideas for their reduction printmaking project.
6th Grade
Illuminated
Letter
The students will finish their thumbnail
sketches for the project and then begin their final copy. They will trace with
Sharpie and then color in.
