Below is my weekly schedule so you can see
which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview
of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also
include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please

Kindergarten
The students will review lines, shapes, and
colors. They will complete project by following specific directions using
lines, shapes, and colors.
1st Grade
The students will review the project
requirements. The students will finish adding in lines to their background,
then trace shapes on top. They will then use crayons to neatly color in the
shapes.
2nd Grade
The students will review information on the
Caves at Lascaux and the project requirements. The students will continue adding
animals and symbols to their paper. The
students will color in using earth-tone colors only. They will then use
watercolors to paint in the background.

3rd Grade
The students will review information on Texture.
The students will learn about the artist and illustrator Eric Carle. They will
examine his work and techniques and how he achieves texture in his pictures.
The students will begin sketching animals.
4th Grade
The students will review information on
landscapes and the project requirements. The students will add in details to
make their project unique. They will then learn colored pencil techniques to
help their landscape appear more realistic. They will outline and color their
landscapes.
5th Grade
The students will review information on value and shading forms. The students will finish value worksheet. The students will learn about composition and different techniques to create successful still life compositions.
6th Grade
The students will review the Zentangle
project requirements. They will continue adding lines and patterns to their
design.
