Below is my weekly schedule so you can see
which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview
of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also
include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please
do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

**6th Grade Art Club begins Monday October 2nd from 12:50-1:20.
Kindergarten
The students will be introduced to the Primary
Colors. They will follow along to complete worksheet.
1st Grade
The students will review the project
requirements. The students will finish coloring in their shapes and hand in
project.
The students will then begin discussion on
Abstract and Realistic Art. They will view examples and be able to determine if
an artwork is realistic or abstract. If there is time they will practice realistic
and abstract drawings on the white boards.
Abstract Art
2nd Grade
The students will finish coloring in their
drawings using earth-tone colors only. They will then use watercolors to paint
in the background. If there is time, the students will be given introduction to
Egyptian Art and view examples. The students will discuss similarities and
differences between the two cultures learned about so far.

3rd Grade
The students will review information on
artist and illustrator Eric Carle. The students will sketch animals and trace
their best onto paper. They will then determine the types of textures they will
need for their chosen animal. They will use paint and a variety of tools to
create textures.
4th Grade
The students will review information on
landscapes and the project requirements. The students will add in details to
make their project unique. They will then learn colored pencil techniques to
help their landscape appear more realistic. They will outline and color their
landscapes.
5th Grade
The students will review information on value and shading forms. The students will learn about composition and different techniques to create successful still life compositions. The students will practice compositions on their white boards and then trace onto paper their most successful one.
6th Grade
The students will review the Zentangle project
requirements. They will finish adding lines and patterns to their design. They will mount and sign their project.
