Roy G. Biv Rainbow Landscape:
Any students who are not yet finished their Warm and Cool Hearts will do so by coloring in the hearts with warm colors and painting the background using watercolors and cool colors only.

The class will then be introduced to the colors
of the rainbow and the acronym Roy G. Biv as a way to easily remember their
order. The class will be read a book about what it takes to make a rainbow and
then complete a packet in which they color in a rainbow using Roy G. Biv
colors.
1st Grade
Warm
and Cool Colors:
The students will review the Warm and Cool colors. They will learn about the artist Friedrich Hundertwasser. They will draw a series of lines for their background and then color in with cool colors. They will then draw a variety of shapes and color with warm colors. If they have time they will cut out and glue down their shapes onto their background.

Ancient
Roman Mosaic:
The students will review information on making Mosaics. They will trace their design and then begin adding mosaic paper pieces to their project. Once they have finished their black border and outline, they can begin adding colored pieces.

Racial
Symmetry-Mandala:
The students be introduced to Radial Symmetry. The students will practice Radial designs and then complete the packet. They will brainstorm and sketch ideas for the Mandala project.

4th Grade
The Principles
of Design:
The students will review the Principles of Design. They will complete packet. Once the packet is complete, they will brainstorm and sketch project ideas on the white boards. The students will then trace final copy and begin outlining and coloring.

5th Grade
Self-Portrait:
The students will follow along with videos to
learn the basic steps to drawing eyes, noses, and mouths and then continue
adding details and shading in.
6th Grade
Monochromatic Painting:
The
students will be introduced to painting techniques. They will practice painting
inside the lines using both round and flat brushes. They will then learn about
tints and shades and how to mix them. They will complete worksheets by mixing
value scales made up of tints and shades.
The
students will then brainstorm and sketch ideas for the project and then draw
their final copy. They will begin painting their monochromatic painting using
only one color with tints and shades of that color.
