Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level
will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary,
images, or artist information.
Kindergarten
(Evans-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Potts-Day 4,

The students will finish
last page of SLO Pre-Test which will assess their basic art knowledge and
skills. The students will complete sketchbook assignment which will review
basic shapes and colors. The students will learn about different types of
lines, shapes and colors. The students will practice directional words such as
above, below, inside, next to, etc. The students will take turns practicing on
the board.
1st Grade
(Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)
The students will complete sketchbook assignment. They will then review the use of lines, shapes, and colors to create a complete picture. The students will discuss landscapes and then begin Concentric Line Landscape project.

2nd Grade
(Corinchock-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, McCabe-Day 3, and

The students will complete sketchbook assignment. They will then review information on the Caves at Lascaux. The students will finish worksheet by continuing to practice drawing animals and symbols that were found inside the caves. The students will use Earth-tone colors. If time allows the students will be given project requirements.

The students will review texture. The students will learn about the
artist Vincent Van Gogh and how he incorporated texture into his paintings. The
students will practice drawing various animal textures.
4th Grade
(Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Moyer-Day 3)

The students will review
landscapes and then complete the landscape worksheet. The students will follow
along with demonstration to create a detailed unique landscape, if time allows
they will add color (Project #1).

5th Grade

The students will review
value and how to create a value scale. The students will learn about shading
objects and highlights and cast shadows. The students will complete value
worksheet.
6th Grade
(Ney-Day 1, Leibensperger-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and
Kessler-Day 5)

The students will review line and pattern and then complete the last
page of the worksheet. The class will be introduced to Zen-tangles. They will
learn the process of creating Zen-tangles and if time allows, begin their
design.
