*Art at NSE with Mrs. Zink*

Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

3/17/14 (Day 1) through 3/21/14 (Day 5)

Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

Kindergarten
(Bernosky-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Potts-Day 4,
Frushon-Day 5)

The students will review the warm and cool colors. The students will use heart tracers to draw and color in hearts using warm colors.

Bernosky and Kaminsky-The students will use watercolors to paint background in using Cool Colors.

1st Grade
(Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)

The students will finish Warm and Cool Abstract Flowers project. The students will be introduced to emotion in art. The students will view pieces and be able to interpret the emotion being portrayed. The students will begin emotion/facial expression worksheet.

2nd Grade
(Corinchock-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, McCabe-Day 3, and
Bell-Day 5)

The students will review Mosaics and how to create a mosaic. The students will continue cutting and gluing strips of paper in a mosaic design.

3rd Grade
(Lynch-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 4, and
Selgrade-Day 5)

The students will finish and hand in Mandala project. The students will review the primary, secondary, and intermediate colors. The students will blend colors using crayons.

4th Grade
(Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Moyer-Day 3)

The students will review the warm and cool colors and the process of color blending. The students will complete color blending packet. The students will be introduced to chalk pastels and how to care for and use them properly. They will practice blending pastels.

5th Grade
(Houser-Day 3 and Connors-Day 4)

The students will review Op Art project requirements. The students will work on final copy of project.

6th Grade

The students will review the three sewing stitches. They will finish sewing exercise, finish project sketch, and then begin project.
