Below you will find a brief
description of what each grade level will be completing in art class this week
along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)
The students will discuss2-D and 3-D. The class will discuss the differences and the students should be able to point out examples. The students will discuss types of lines and different ways to fold and cut paper. The students will practice folding and curling paper strips.
1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2,
and Cooper-Day 4)
The students will review artwork that shows emotion. The students will point out specific objects, people, and colors used. The students will make connection between color and mood/emotion. The class will finish emotion worksheet in which they draw and color in facial expressions for different moods.
The students will practice drawing a portrait from the shoulders up and then adding color and emotion to the portrait.

2nd
Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)
The students will finish painting their Model Magic Coil Pots. The students will then begin working on a color review packet in which they are coloring and mixing using the primary, secondary, and intermediate colors.

3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day
3, and Selgrade-Day 5)
The
students will complete color review packet. The students will review how to
measure and draw straight lines using a ruler.
4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Burda-Day 3)
The
students will complete and hand in their Point of View project. The students
who finish will begin reading information on the Pop Art Movement.
5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)
The
students will finish their facial feature drawings. The students will then
review the project requirements and then begin drawing their self-portrait from
their photograph.
6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2,
Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)
The
students will review the project requirements and sketch their idea (Sketchbook
Assignment #12). If ready, the students will continue on final sewing project,
applying at least two of the practiced stitches.
If the
class completes the sewing project, they will begin discussing tints and
shades.
