Below
you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing
in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)
The students will review their colors and the acronym Roy G. Biv. The students will be introduced to the term landscape. The students will follow along to draw a simple landscape. The students will recognize that objects get smaller as they get farther away from us.

The students will review their colors and the acronym Roy G. Biv. The students will be introduced to the term landscape. The students will follow along to draw a simple landscape. The students will recognize that objects get smaller as they get farther away from us.
1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and
Cooper-Day 4)
The students will review warm and cool colors. The students will
learn about oil pastels and how to blend them. The students will practice
blending oil pastels using warm and cool colors.
2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)
The students will review the project requirements. The students will finish practicing their vase shapes and then learn how to create a symmetrical vase by folding the paper in half. The students will cut out 3 large vase shapes and then use Greek patterns to decorate them. The students will glue down the vases and learn how to make the vases look three-dimensional.
3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and
Selgrade-Day 5)
The students will review the process of shading. The students will
finish the 3D pipe worksheet. If students finish the worksheet they will begin
experimenting with oil pastels. The students will begin sketching ideas for the
project if they finish pastel experimentation.
4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and
Burda-Day 3)
The students will be introduced to different points of view. The
students will view examples and learn how to draw objects zoomed in, from bird’s
eye view, and worm’s eye view. The students will apply knowledge to point of
view packet.
Any student who did not finish their pastel landscape will finish
that before working on point of view packet.

5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)
The students will review Op Art. The students will review the
project requirements and finish sketching final copy and add color.
The students who finish and hand in the Op Art project will begin
working on reading about and sketching facial features.
6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)
The students will review the 3 basic stitches. The students will finish handout and continue on sewing exercises.
The students will review the project requirements and begin
sketching ideas. If ready, the students will begin final sewing project.
