7th Grade Art (1st and 7th Periods)
Monday-

Tuesday-Introduction to Carmen Lomas Garza and Kara Walker and discussion on family traditions.

Wednesday-Vocabulary Terms (Symmetry, Asymmetry, Positive space, Negative Space)
Thursday-Introduction of Notan Paper Cutting Technique.
Friday-Creating Notan Example


Intro to Art (2nd and 6th Periods)
Monday- No School

Tuesday-Continue of Sketchbook Assignment (Landscape using Space and Value)
Wednesday-Introduction to Line and Line qualities.Sketchbook Assignment.
Thursday- Introduction to Cubism, Picasso, and Braque, then complete group activity.
Friday-Introduction of first project. Review project requirements and then begin developing ideas and sketches.



Sculpture (3rd Period)
Monday- No School

Tuesday-Library Research and Thumbnail Sketches.
Wednesday-Enlarge most successful thumbnail sketch into detailed drawing.
Thursday-Explanation of proper use of materials and tools. Experimentation with Balsa Foam.
Friday-Transfer drawing to Balsa Foam and begin carving.



Advanced Sculpture (3rd Period)
Monday-
No School
Tuesday-Complete written concept of idea
Wednesday-Demonstration of materials.
Thursday-Begin casting hands
Friday-Continue casting hands


Beginning Drawing (5th Period)
Monday-
No School

Tuesday-Proportion and Scale intro.
Wednesday-Proportion and sale drawing.
Thursday-Introduction of first project. Review requirements. Compositional sketches.
Friday-Choose most successful sketch and add detail.
