Kindergarten
Mixing Purple-Silly Monster/Grapes
The students will review the primary colors and how they are mixed to create the secondary colors. They will review how to mix purple. They will work as a table to mix the paint and then paint their entire paper purple. They will then decide as a class if they would like to make a silly monster or a branch with grapes on it for the project. They will practice drawing monster facial features or branches and leaves. The following class, the students will begin drawing on the back of their purple painted paper and then cut and glue.
1st Grade
Geometric and Organic Shapes Collage
Geometric and Organic Shapes Collage
The students will learn about Geometric and Organic shapes. They will practice the shapes through completion of worksheet. They will then review the primary and secondary colors. They will learn a bout Henri Matisse and his use of collage techniques. They will then begin cutting and gluing their collage, using primary colors when cutting geometric shapes, and secondary colors when cutting organic shapes.
2nd Grade
Egyptian Art
Egyptian Art
The students will review Egyptian jewelry. They will brainstorm ideas for their own Egyptian Collar. They will then cut, paint, and decorate their Egyptian Collars.

Still Life Gourds
Still Life Gourds
The students will discuss how to draw a still life using pumpkins and gourds. Tey will sketch on the whiteboards. When they have a nice sktech, they will trace onto the final paper using thin sharpie. They will then learn watercolor and colored pencil techniques. They will color in the gourds and paint the background.
4th Grade
Assemblage Sculpture in the style of Louise Nevelson
Assemblage Sculpture in the style of Louise Nevelson
The students will review assemblage sculpture and the project requirements. They will continue arranging their chosen objects and securely glue down onto cardboard. They will then choose their color and begin painting the entire sculpture.
5th Grade
Printmaking
Printmaking
The students will be introduced to printmaking with a Monoprint. The students will learn techniques and then create their own Monoprint using markers on the table.
Once they have created at least one successful Monoprint, they will brainstorm and sketch ideas for the printmaking project. The students will then trace and transfer their design onto the printing foam.
6th Grade
Lettering
Lettering
The students will discuss different types of lettering. They will complete packet which will give them the opportunity to practice a variety of lettering types and styles. They will choose their project idea and begin final copy.
