The Primary Colors
The Primary Colors
The students will review the Primary Colors. They will learn what is
special about them and then practice writing the color words and coloring and
mixing with crayons. The students will complete packet. The students will learn project requirements and discuss how shapes can overlap. They will use shape tracers to trace overlapping shapes on their paper and then color in using the Primary Colors and mixing to make the Secondary Colors.

students will finish coloring in their shapes for the project.
The students will then learn about Abstract Art. They will view examples and then practice drawing a flower in a realistic way and then in an abstract way.

students will review information on Egyptian Art and Culture. They will learn about Hieroglyphics. They will practice drawing pictures, objects, and symbols from the Egyptian Culture, including writing their name in Hieroglyphics.

students will review information about texture and collage. The students will experiment with paint and texture, using a variety of objects to paint and scrape.
They will sketch animals that they might want to use in their project and trace onto white paper.

Realistic Landscape
The
students will learn a variety of colored pencil techniques and practice by completing packet. When finished, they will apply techniques to their realistic landscape.

Still Life with Value
Still Life with Value
The
students will review basic shading techniques and how to make objects look
realistic with the use of value. The students will then learn how to draw 3-D
forms such as cubes, cones, cylinders, etc. They will discuss how the size and
placement of the forms changes where the objects sits in space. They will also
discuss compositional techniques and practice on the whiteboards. They will develop their own composition and when approved, they will trace onto white paper and begin shading, applying value knowledge from earlier in the lesson.
