Kindergarten
Fall Tree (Mixing Orange):
The students will review the parts of a tree. They will finish practicing drawing a tree. They will then draw and color their final copy. If they finish coloring their trees, they will discuss mixing the primary colors. They will mix yellow and red to make orange and paint their leaves.
Once their Fall Trees are finished we will begin discussing the parts of the face and practice drawing silly monster faces. We will mix red and blue to make purple paint.

The students will learn about the artist Paul Klee. They will view various pieces of artwork by him. They will learn how to use a ruler to create a grid on their paper. They will color in with watercolor pencils/ paint with watercolors.
After their grids are finished we will review Abstract and Realistic Artwork. We will discuss plants and animals that live in the ocean. The students will practice drawing an underwater scene.

Greek Pottery:
The students will be introduced to the key concepts of symmetry and patterns and begin worksheet. They will then learn about the Ancient Greek civilization and how they used symmetry and patterns. They will finish worksheet.

Once their worksheets are finished, the
students will discuss how to create a symmetrical vase by only drawing half of
it on folded paper and then cutting it out. The students will make 3 vases and
then decorate with Greek Patterns.
3rd Grade
Oil Pastel Pipes:
The students will finish oil pastel exercises. They will then sketch project idea and blend oil pastels on their final copy.

will be introduced to mirror symmetry and complete worksheet.
4th Grade
The Elements of Art:
The students will review the 7 Elements of Art. They will follow along and complete exercises on the white boards for each element. They will then complete packet.
Once their packet is complete, the students will begin project by creating 7 large shapes and filling each with one of the elements of art.

5th Grade
Weaving:
The students will be introduced to weaving.
They will learn important vocabulary and techniques. They will follow along to
create paper weaving.
When they are finished with their paper
weaving, they will be given demonstration on how to create loom and weave for
circle weaving. They will choose yarn colors and begin weaving.
6th Grade
Greeting Cards (Printmaking):
The students will finish sketching ideas and trace backwards and transfer to foam. They will be given printmaking demonstration and begin printing their designs. Once they have at least 10 good prints they can begin making their greeting cards by cutting out prints and adding decorations.
