Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level
will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary
and/or artists.
Kindergarten
(Bernosky-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Potts-Day 4,

The students will finish
drawing, cutting out, and gluing eyes, nose, mouth and details to their Silly
Monsters. They will then use markers to decorate.
Frushon: The students
will review what two primary colors are mixed together to make the secondary
color of purple. The students will review the basic process of painting and
using paint. The students will mix red and blue together to make purple and
then paint their entire paper purple.
1st Grade
(Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)
They will review information on the Artist Gustav Klimt. They will follow along to draw and color a stylized tree in the style of Klimt. They will then add in patterns to the picture.

2nd Grade

The students will review information regarding symmetry and the Ancient Greeks. The students will finish Greek Pattern Worksheet and then practice drawing Vase Shapes. If time allows, the students will be given demonstration on how to fold, draw, and cut out vase shapes.

The students will be introduced to Symmetry. The students will view examples
and then complete Symmetry Worksheet.
4th Grade

The students will be
introduced to the Elements of Art. They will complete their Abstract Line,
Shape, and Color drawing and then complete Elements of Art worksheet.
5th Grade
(Houser-Day 3 and Connors-Day 4)

The students will
review craft vs. fine art and share their opinions on their similarities and
differences. The students will learn basic weaving techniques and create a
woven design out of paper. The students will then be introduced to African
Paper Bead-making.
