Below
you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing
in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.
**Parents-Please check any websites I may include yourself before letting your child investigate the site. Thanks!!
Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)
The students will review warm and cool colors. The students will use patterns to trace hearts and then use only warm colors to carefully color in. *Next week we will be painting!!

The students will review warm and cool colors. The students will use patterns to trace hearts and then use only warm colors to carefully color in. *Next week we will be painting!!
1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and
Cooper-Day 4)
The students will review Patterns. The students will finish Pattern
worksheet. The students will be introduced to the artist Gustav Klimt. The students
will recognize the patterns he used in his artwork. The students will practice
shapes and designs from Klimt’s work.
2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)
The students will review symmetry and asymmetry. The students will review Ancient Greek artwork, including pottery. The students will recognize the patterns used by the Greek artists. The students will finish Pattern worksheet and practice drawing symmetrical vase shapes.
3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and
Selgrade-Day 5)
The students will review the process of shading to achieve more
three-dimensional looking objects. The students will finish shading in their
cylinder, cube, cone and sphere drawings. The students will be given the
project requirements and then begin drawing and shading.
4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and
Burda-Day 3)
The students will review color mixing and blending and proper pastel
techniques. The students will continue applying pastel techniques to create
blended warm and cool colors. The students will be given project requirements
and begin developing ideas and sketches.
**The next few weeks we will be working with pastels, which can get messy. Please consider not sending your child to school with their newest or whitest clothing on their Art day. Thanks!!
5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)
The students will be introduced to Op Art. The students will view
examples and learn about Op Art artists and techniques. The students will follow
along with a set of specific directions to create two Op Art designs.
6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)
The students will review the perspective project requirements. The
students will continue developing ideas for the project and when finished
drawing at least 7 objects in perspective they can begin adding details and
color.
