Below
you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing
in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.

Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)
The students will review warm and cool colors. The students will view examples of each and then complete activity/worksheet in which they utilize the warm and cool colors.

Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)
The students will review warm and cool colors. The students will view examples of each and then complete activity/worksheet in which they utilize the warm and cool colors.
1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and
Cooper-Day 4)
If not already finished, the students will finish their Geometric
and Organic Shape Collage in the style of Matisse.
The students will be introduced to Patterns. They will view examples
and then create patterns of their own. They will apply knowledge to pattern
worksheet.
2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)
The students will review symmetry and asymmetry. The students will finish symmetry worksheet if not already completed. The students will be introduced to Ancient Greek artwork, including pottery. The students will view examples and practice drawing different types of vases and pottery.
3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and
Selgrade-Day 5)
The students will review the process of shading to achieve more
three-dimensional looking objects. The students will view examples and learn
the techniques. The students will apply knowledge to shading worksheet.
The students will follow along to shade in a cylinder, cube, and
cone.
4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and
Burda-Day 3)
The students will review color mixing and blending. The students
will learn techniques to mix and blend colors. The students will recognize warm
and cool colors. The students will apply knowledge to worksheet on which they
practice blending and mixing colors.
After the completion of the worksheet the students will be given
pastel demonstration. The students will learn blending techniques and then use
those techniques to experiment with the pastels, utilizing their knowledge of
warm and cool colors.
5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)
The students should have finished the required 15 beads by this week
and will complete construction of their jewelry. After the jewelry is handed in
the students will be introduced to Op Art and begin an Op Art worksheet.
6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)
The students will review one-point perspective. The students will review
the perspective project requirements. The students will continue developing
ideas for the project and when finished drawing at least 7 objects in
perspective they can begin adding details and color.
