Kindergarten
Warm and Cool Hearts
The students will learn about the warm and cool colors. They will complete packet where they find the warm and cool colors on the color wheel. The students will use heart tracers to make a creative design on their paper and then use warm colors to color in.
In the following class the students will review painting techniques and then use cool colors to watercolor the background of their paper.
1st Grade
Patterns in the style of Klimt
The students will be introduced to patterns and how to create unique patterns using a variety of lines, shapes, and colors. They will complete worksheet. The following class the students will learn about the artist Gustav Klimt and recognize his use of pattern in his artwork. The students will begin the project by painting a gold tree on black paper and then later on adding in creative patterns using metallic markers.
2nd Grade
Mosaic/Pointillism
Mosaic/Pointillism
The students will use various artistic techniques to create their Valentine's Folders. When finished, they will continue with the Mosaic/Pointillism lesson.
The students will be introduced to the Ancient Roman people and culture. They will learn about the techniques they used to create artwork, including mosaic. The students will complete color by number. In the following class the students will learn about the artistic technique of pointillism. The students will compare pointillism and mosaic artwork. The students will complete pointillism worksheet.

3rd Grade
Symmetrical Reflection Landscape
Symmetrical Reflection Landscape
The students will learn some basic color theory and how to mix complementary colors to create shades of a color. They mix and paint the trees in their landscape. They will add in final details. If time allows, they will begin discussing Asymmetrical Balance.
4th Grade
The Principles of Design
The Principles of Design
The students will review the Elements of Art and then learn about the Principles of Design. The students will view examples and then draw their own examples for Balance, Movement, Pattern, and Variety. The following class the students will complete activity.
5th Grade
Op Art
Op Art
The students will review Op Art project requirements and then finish their projects.
Fey's Class-The students will continue weaving project using the techniques taught and practiced.
