Kindergarten
Self-Portrait:
Self-Portrait:
The class will review the steps to draw each
facial feature. They will then follow along to create guidelines and draw two
portraits in correct proportion. They will then begin self-portrait by creating
guidelines and drawing in basic facial features, then adding individual details
to make it look like themselves.
1st Grade
Emotional
Emoji Story:
The students will review emotions and the colors and facial expressions associated with each emotion. They will use their completed facial expression worksheet to assist them in drawing 3 emoji faces and create three complete sentences that go together to make a story. They will color the faces with the matching color.

The class will then discuss book cover
illustrations and how the cover can show the mood or emotion of the story
through pictures and colors. The students will sketch idea for their cover and
then start final copy.
2nd Grade
Medieval
Stained Glass:
The students will be introduced to medieval art and view various examples. The students will learn about stained glass artwork. They will complete packet.

3rd Grade
Geometric
and Organic Shapes/ Notan:
The students will be introduced to Geometric
and Organic Shapes. The students will complete worksheet. The students will be
given demonstrations and view examples of various Notan projects. They will
create their own Notan design.
4th Grade
Warm
and Cool Pastel Landscapes:
The students will decide on their landscape
choice and brainstorm and sketch their idea(s). The students will transfer
their design to the paper and begin adding and blending pastels.
5th Grade
Self-Portrait:
The students will trace their final copy from
their preliminary sketch. They will re-watch the videos as a reminder how to
shade the parts of the face. They will continue shading and adding details
until their portrait is finished.
6th Grade
Grid
Portrait:
The students will be given demonstration how
to create a grid drawing. They will practice on a cartoon picture, then on a
more complicated realistic picture that must be shaded. Once the students are
successful with the practice grid drawings, they will find and print a picture
of a person and then create a grid to re-create the picture onto.
