*Art at NSE with Mrs. Zink*

Below is my weekly schedule so you can see which rotation day your child has art class. Each week I will give an overview of what students will be learning and creating in art class. I will also include relevant images, information, and links to additional resources. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!!

Plans for Mrs. Zink’s Art Classes the final 3 weeks of school



 


Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)

The students will review texture. The students will utilize their cutting and gluing skills to complete a flower picture made out of various textures. The students will be given their sketchbook folders to take home.

 

 

1st Grade (Bridy-Day 1, Burns-Day 2, and Cooper-Day 4)

The students will review various drawing techniques in order to achieve a more realistic drawing. The students will finish basic shapes worksheet. The students will follow along to draw a variety of items, utilizing their drawing skills. The students will be given their sketchbook folders to take home.

 

 

2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)

The students will review Claude Monet and Impressionism. The students will learn characteristics of Impressionist artwork. The students will complete their pastel blending practice. The students will complete pastel drawing in the style of Monet.  The students will be given their sketchbook folders to take home.

 

 

3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and Selgrade-Day 5)

 

The students review the project requirements. The students will apply their knowledge of different color schemes to color in their project.

 

 

4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Burda-Day 3)

 

The students will review the Pop Art project requirements. The students will finish transferring their drawing 4 times and then use markers to color in. If time allows, the students will learn about abstract expressionism and create abstract painting. The students will be given their sketchbook folders to take home.

 

 

5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)

 

The students will add final details and shadows to their self-portraits. If time allows, they will practice painting techniques.  The students will be given their sketchbook folders to take home.

 

 

 

6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)

 

The students will review how to draw eyes, noses, and mouths. They will apply knowledge to draw and shade a portrait of a person. The students will be given their sketchbook folders to take home.

5/3/13 (Day 1) through 5/9/13 (Day 5)

 

Below you will find a brief description of what each grade level will be completing in art class this week along with any important vocabulary and/or artists.



Kindergarten (Potts-Day 1, Kaminsky-Day 3, Bernosky-Day 4, and Frushon-Day 5)

The students will be introduced to various drawing techniques in order to achieve a more realistic drawing. The students will follow along to complete worksheet. The students will follow along to draw a variety of items, utilizing their drawing skills.

 

2nd Grade (Bell-Day 1, Schalles-Day 2, Ressler-Day 3, and Corinchock-Day 5)

The students will be introduced to Claude Monet and Impressionism. The students will learn characteristics of Impressionist artwork. The students will follow along to create a warm or cool pastel drawing.

 

3rd Grade (Shadle-Day 2. Laudeman-Day 3, and Selgrade-Day 5)

 

 

 

The students will review different types of shapes. The students will be given the project requirements. The students will apply their knowledge of different color schemes to color in their project.  

 

4th Grade (Nestor-Day 1, Herring-Day 2, and Burda-Day 3)

 

The students will review Pop Art and various Pop Art Artists. The students will discuss “popular culture” and be able to apply to drawing. The students will review how to use a ruler and use ruler to divide paper into 4 equal rectangles. The students will be given project requirements and begin sketching ideas.

 

5th Grade (Kempsey-Day 3 and Wolfe-Day 4)

 

 

The students will continue drawing their self-portraits. They will add details and shade their portrait.

 

 

6th Grade (Ney-Day 1, Adams-Day 2, Hysock-Day 3, and Kessler-Day 5)

 

 

 

The students will review how to draw eyes, noses, and mouths. They will follow along to draw a portrait with correct proportions.
